Every athlete receives an automatic confirmation email immediately after completing registration. As an organizer, it's useful to know exactly what your athletes see — both so you can set expectations and so you can direct athletes to the right place if they have questions after signing up.
What's Included in the Confirmation Email
The confirmation email is sent automatically by Competition Corner as soon as a registration is completed. It includes:
Registration confirmation — confirmation that their registration was successful, including the event name and date
Division — the specific division the athlete registered for, so they can verify they signed up in the right category
Event details — key information about the event to help athletes prepare
Check-In QR Code — a unique QR code assigned to the athlete that can be scanned on event day for quick and accurate athlete check-in
Dashboard link — a link to the athlete's Competition Corner Dashboard where they can view and manage all their registered events
The exact content of the email may vary slightly depending on whether your event is individual or team-based, and whether it is an on-site or online competition.
The Check-In QR Code
The QR code included in the confirmation email is the athlete's digital pass for event day. When athletes arrive at your event, staff can scan this QR code using the Competition Corner app to check them in instantly — no paper lists, no manual lookups.
Athletes can access their QR code in three ways:
Confirmation email — the QR code is included in the registration confirmation email sent at sign-up
Competition Corner Dashboard — athletes can retrieve their QR code at any time by logging into their dashboard or through the Competition Corner app
Digital wallet — athletes can save their QR code directly to their phone's digital wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet) for the easiest possible access on event day
We recommend encouraging your athletes to save their QR code to their digital wallet ahead of the event — it's the fastest way to get through check-in and doesn't require an internet connection on the day.
For Team Events
For team registrations, the confirmation email is sent to the team captain who completed the registration. Team members will receive their own separate emails — including their individual QR codes — once the team captain has provided their email addresses during registration.
If an Athlete Didn't Receive Their Confirmation Email
If an athlete reports not receiving their confirmation email, there are a few things to check:
Ask them to check their spam or junk folder — confirmation emails occasionally get filtered
Confirm the email address they registered with is correct
You can resend the confirmation email directly from the Athlete List in your event dashboard — find the athlete, click the action menu, and select Resend Confirmation
Remind them they can also access their QR code at any time from their Competition Corner Dashboard or the app
