Verify your Stripe status

My event is unable to collect payments

If your athletes are seeing an error message when attempting to pay for your event, it is most likely because payments have been disabled on your Stripe account due to incomplete or missing verification details.


The Error Athletes See

"This account cannot currently make live charges. If you are a customer trying to make a purchase, please contact the owner of this site. Your transaction has not been processed."

This message means your Stripe account is not currently able to accept live payments. This is not an issue with Competition Corner — it needs to be resolved directly in your Stripe account.


How to Fix It

  1. Review any pending action items or outstanding verification requests

  2. Complete all required steps — this may include confirming your identity, providing business details, or linking a bank account

  3. Once Stripe has reviewed and approved your information, payments will be re-enabled automatically


Prevention

Stripe may request additional verification at various points throughout the life of your account — not just at initial setup. It's important to monitor your Stripe account and email regularly for any notices from Stripe and respond to them promptly. Delayed responses can result in payments being paused on your active events.
