You can establish 2 types of registration limits to your event, a general registration cap or you can distribute the limits by division.
You can establish the registration limits under Event Details
If you establish a global limit, simply set the limit. Your event will stop taking registration once that global limit has been met.
If you establish a limit by Division, select that option and then head to each division and establish the registration limits for each division.
